These terms describe how PrepHike works with you: what we provide, what we charge, when payment is due, and how either side can end the engagement. By booking the call and continuing into the prep, you agree to these terms. We will also put the same terms in a short written agreement that both sides sign.

01The service

PrepHike is an interview preparation service for software engineers. We run you through the SHIFT Method: a diagnostic call, an information audit, resume variants, experience explanations, a skill question bank, mock interviews, and company-specific preparation, with support until you accept an offer or the engagement ends.

02What we are not

• We are not a placement agency. We do not contact companies on your behalf.
• We are not a course or a recorded-content platform.
• We do not guarantee a job. Hiring freezes, market conditions, and your performance on the day are outside our control.

03Who we work with

Software engineers with 1.5 to 10 years of experience, currently earning up to 25 LPA, working in one of our tracks (JS/TS full stack, .NET full stack, data engineering, or system design), able to commit one to two hours a day. We do not take freshers under 18 months, currently unemployed candidates, or tracks we cannot back with real depth.

04The call and report

The engagement starts with a paid 30-minute call, booked for Rs. 199. On the call we assess your gap, and you receive a written report on where you are underpaid and what to fix. You decide whether to go further; we decide whether you fit our tracks.

05The 2-week prep

• If you continue, you pay a flat prep fee of Rs. 2,000.
• Over about two weeks this covers your resume rebuild, prep playbooks, and your first mock interviews.
• This fee is for work delivered and is non-refundable.
• All payments are by UPI or bank transfer. No cash. Keep your transaction record.

06The 3-month engagement and success fee

• To start the 3-month engagement, you pay an upfront join fee: 1% of your expected package if it is up to 20 LPA, or 1.5% if it is above 20 LPA. The expected package is set together during the assessment.
• The join fee is a down payment on the total success fee. The total success fee is 1.5% of your actual package up to 20 LPA, or 2% above 20 LPA.
• When you accept an offer, the total is recalculated on your actual package, and you pay the balance after the join fee already paid.
• The percentage is on your annual fixed gross package, before income tax. It excludes variable pay, joining or sign-on bonus, and employer contributions such as PF, gratuity, and insurance. Income tax is your own liability.
• We calculate the fee on the offer you accept through the engagement. Anything you negotiate beyond that, on your own, is yours.

07When fees are due, and the refund

• The Rs. 199 call fee and the prep fee are due upfront, at each stage.
• The join fee is due before the 3-month engagement begins.
• The balance of the success fee is due on the day you confirm written acceptance of an offer.
• If no offer is reached within the three months, half of the join fee is refunded. The call fee and prep fee, paid for work delivered, are not refunded.

08Proof you share with us

So we can track your progress and verify a qualifying offer, you agree to share written proof during the engagement. This includes the emails or messages that show your interview schedules, the offer letters you receive, and any acceptances or rejections. We treat all of it as confidential under Section 12. We can only calculate and confirm the success fee from this evidence, so keeping it shared and current is part of working with us.

09Accepting or declining an offer

Whether to accept an offer is your choice. If you decide to stop your job search, no balance is due (the join fee is handled per Section 7). If you decline an offer reached through the engagement and then accept another role within the same engagement, the balance is due on that first offer. This keeps the deal fair on both sides.

10Engagement period and disengagement

• We support you at no extra charge until you accept an offer or the engagement ends.
• If you stop responding for 14 or more consecutive days without notice, the engagement closes. Fees paid for work already delivered are not refunded, and the half-back guarantee on the join fee does not apply.
• Either side may end the engagement with written notice.

11Outcomes

We are accountable for the quality of what we deliver: your resume, experience explanations, skill preparation, mock rigor, and company-specific plan. We are not accountable for outcomes driven by factors outside our scope, such as whether a recruiter responds, hiring freezes, interview panel bias, or whether you execute the prep as planned.

12Confidentiality

We keep your information private. We do not share your documents, salary, or job search with anyone outside the engagement. With your written permission, we may share an anonymized outcome (for example, a salary jump without your name or employer) as a reference.

13Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. The terms that apply to you are the ones in force, and signed, when your engagement begins.

14Contact and governing law

PrepHike is based in Coimbatore, India. For any question about these terms, reach us through the booking page or the contact you were given at onboarding. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute is subject to the courts of Coimbatore, India.
